Tupu ā nuku is a Taranaki environmental workforce development programme led by Ngāti Maru. It is supported by the Regional Recovery Leadership Group and the Ngā iwi o Taranaki Recovery Plan. Below outlines the five key deliverables

PATHWAYS

Pathways team connecting with schools, wananga, Alt.Ed and MSD to create work experience and connection to training and into employment.

EDUCATION/
TRAINING

Providing agile and responsive training and education based on regional employment needs with strong tikanga and Te Ao Māori component.

PASTORAL CARE

A team of pastoral care support for all learners during training and for two years into employment.

EMPLOYMENT

Businesses committed to Tupu ā nuku to take on trainees into work.  Business enablement programme to support SME and self employment.

05

IWI LEADERSHIP

Governance and advisory will include Te Tai Whakararo, Taranaki Reginal Council, DOC and other key stakeholders, funders and organisations. Collaboration key to sustainability.
