To re-confirm our Ngāti Maru relationship with the Crown and neighbouring Iwi.

To establish a suite of programmes which are resourced to support:

The effective participation of a Ngāti Maru post-settlement entity in Crown activities; to strengthen Ngāti Maru to effectively engage with neighbouring iwi and whanaunga, and the reversal of negative social and cultural statistics for Ngāti Maru.

  • The establishment of agreements and protocols with a range of government departments and councils.

  • The establishment of protocols and agreements with our neighbouring iwi to settle overlapping matters and

  • Support each other to reach our respective goals and achieve success.

Results of Ratification Voting Process

We are proud to share with you the results of the Ngāti Maru Deed of Settlement – Te Hiringa Taketake vote.

Ninety-two percent (92%) of our voting members supported the Treaty of Waitangi settlement package, as well as the Deed of Settlement to be signed by our Trustees and Negotiators on behalf of Ngāti Maru.
