Ngāti Maru Education Grants 2025
Te Kāhui Maru Trust received 28 applications for Education Grants this year. Of these, 21 applicants were successful, with a total of $24,000 distributed among them.
We sincerely thank all who applied and encourage any uri pursuing tertiary education to apply next year.

Te Rautaki Mātauranga o Ngāti Maru | Ngāti Maru Education Strategy
In December 2024 the Ngāti Maru Education Strategy was launched in Waitara. Te Kāhui Maru Trust acknowledges Te Tāhūhū o te Mātauranga (MOE) for their financial contribution to assist with the research and compilation of this strategy document.

Ngāti Maru Kaumātua Lunch 2024
On December 11th, we held our annual Kaumātua Christmas Lunch at the Ngāti Ruanui Mountain House. It was a beautiful day spent celebrating with our Ngāti Maru Kaumātua. A special highlight of the day was honouring Uncle Jack Patu for his outstanding contributions to our Marae and Iwi.

Ngāti Maru Settlement Bill First Reading
On Tuesday 6 July the Ngāti Maru Claim Settlement Bill, Te Hiringa Taketake will receive its first reading in Parliament and we would like to warmly invite all uri of Ngāti Maru to join us for part or all of the proceedings.

Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Maru – Deed of Settlement Signing
The last Taranaki iwi to settle with the Crown has signed its deed of settlement putting to rest its historical grievances. Ngāti Maru made a call last week to downsize the milestone event to keep their people safe in a post-Covid era but they plan to mark the occasion properly in due course.
